Beauty Of Monsoon

In a hundred different tongues I am "MONSOON” ..…

We often say, “ Rain rain go away, Come again another day, Little Jhony wants to play, Rain rain go away…” Yes, this is true! In rainy season, the streets are logged with water, even sometimes water enters in our house; everywhere there are lots n lots of traffic! The weather is gloomy ---- the sky is covered with clouds and it is difficult for the Sun to show his face to us! Malaria, jaundice, and gastro intestinal infections like typhoid and cholera make their presence felt in this monsoon. Apart from these, viral infections like cold and cough, dengue encircles us. We know, that precautions may prevent us from these harmful diseases.

But, have we ever thought of the other side of monsoon…how beautiful the earth looks when the monsoon comes… As the first drops of rain touches the land, the lovely smell tickles our noses and we know that the monsoons are here... Monsoon means many things to many people, right from the sign of a good harvest, to cars getting a good splash, evening tea with yummy snacks and many more…

Monsoon is the time to set out and explore nature in all its glory. The lush green expanses, the dew drops settled on the leaves with streams and rivers filled to the brim and cascading waterfalls----- all these makes me mad! The sunrays falling on the dew drops on the leaves after heavy shower also makes wonderful views.

While writing these lines, I was really lost in the fantasies of the monsoon. I love the evenings of monsoon, when there are different beautiful designs of clouds sway in the sky with beautiful colours. And the little wet and sweet breeze…will always embrace you like your lover! And then it begin to rain… Sometimes it rains for twenty-five minutes a day and sometimes it rains throughout the day and night. But the rain has its surprises! It occurs continuously and then all of a sudden you see a burst of sunlight. It is like a burst of energy, pure and fresh in spirit… To me monsoon is-- hide and seek game of nature...

It is exhilarating! It is spectacular! The rain creates a lot of moods. I love monsoon because all the colours of nature becomes more saturated. There’s more green and more grey’s…

It is the time of celebration and joy. With a lush green environment kids come out of street and dance in the rain!

Slushy roads & traffic jams mark its arrival in the city, so head closer to nature & enjoy the real beauty of rains, bubbling streams & lush greenery.

Who among us hasn't been enchanted by dewdrops? I’ve been thinking about these dewdrops, wondering how they maintain their spherical figures… when these droplets merge together on leaves and glisten in the sunlight… wow…it’s magical!

Really the monsoon has lots of characters and moods. When the rain begins, I always enjoy its music… I also love to walk in the drizzling rain…but when autumn comes and is the time for monsoon to say good-bye, it seems to me as if monsoon wants to say .....

“Standing on the green grass,

Looking at the Sky,

You can forget me

But how can I…”
